Job Title: Laser Technical Support and Applications Technician
Coordinates with: Customer Service, Sales Representatives, Shipping, Suppliers

Location: Mississauga, ON

Position Type: Full-Time

Job Purpose: To service customers by providing production and equipment support to our existing customer base. To promote Synergy Products by providing timely, accurate and cost effective service by phone, internet and in person.

Duties:

Performs on-site service, setup and training for our laser systems, and other future products.

Implements technical support procedures and maintains tech records for all customer contacts in our CRM.

Produces sample parts for prospective customers, and demonstrations on applications.

Supports sales staff by providing machine and material samples, application support, and other assistance as needed.

Maintains accurate records on returned defective parts and follows RMA procedures to return warranty parts for credit.

Updates job knowledge by participating in teleconferences, and engaging in conversations with supplier’s technical support departments.

Practices with all software and equipment offerings to ensure competency, and to allow for effective and efficient use, training and support.

Proactively contacts new customers to introduce our support offerings, to provide the opportunity for extended warranties, and to offer discounted service calls based on planned travel.

Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for completing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Backup of shipping duties for the branch during vacation or illness.

Completes other tasks, as assigned by by the General Manager

Additional Responsibilities:

Cleaning & Organization of Production Area/Machine Showroom,

Maintenance of all demonstration and production equipment in an “As New” condition at all times.

Job duties subject to change as necessary.

Qualifications:

Mechanical and/or electrical training with good mechanical aptitude

Working knowledge of Windows-based PC’s including software installation, good network understanding is a plus

Basic knowledge of 2D design software packages such as CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator or AutoCAD

Professional appearance and conduct is critical
